Are chicken fillets the same as chicken thighs?

Chicken thighs can be bought as thigh fillets with skin and bone removed, or thigh cutlets, with bone and skin still attached. Chicken thigh meat is brown and has a little more fat then the breast, but also slightly more flavour.

Are chicken thigh fillets good?

With more flavour that breast meat thighs are extremely forgiving when it comes to cook times. If you let ’em cook for several minutes after they’ve reached 165°F, don’t sweat it — you’ll still have juicy, succulent chicken and nobody will have to know.

How do you bake chicken thighs fillets?

  • Pre-heat oven 180 deg C.  Line a shallow baking tray with baking paper (this makes it easier to clean up afterwards).
  • Place in the oven for 45 minutes or until golden and cooked through.
  • For best results baste thigh cutlets while cooking.  Test to ensure they are cooked through by inserting a skewer into the thigh, if juices run clear, it is cooked.
  • Serve with oven baked vegetables or fresh garden salad.
